Strawberry Possum creates and curates imaginative fine jewelry, elevated home lifestyle accessories, and vintage and upcycled treasures. Concepted and crafted with heart in Los Angeles, California, our modern-day heirlooms inspire delight and amplify core superpowers intrinsic to the human experience: to dream, create, reflect, and experience love.

ANNIE SUN
Each thoughtfully designed piece is a snapshot of the vibrant, cross-cultural patchwork of fables, stories, shapes, and symbols that inspire Principal Designer Annie Sun. Annie’s creations organically evolve from the Italian medieval and baroque motifs that captured her childhood fancy, and the eclectic, pioneering, forward-thinking ethos of the American West that drew her to immigrate from Taiwan to Southern California. Old World heritage and tradition combine with New World exploration and rock and roll, forming an aesthetic she whimsically describes as “Spaghetti Western.”

OUR PROCESS
From fine jewelry to lifestyle pieces and all keepsakes in between, all of Annie’s designs start as rough sketches, drawn as closely in size as possible to the finished product. These sketches are Annie’s 2D playground, and pragmatically serve as blueprints that allow for more efficient production down the road.
Once satisfied, Annie fine-tunes form and adds detail. She expertly sculpts and carves wax to her desired shape for jewelry and other metal pieces, ceramics take shape through explorations with clay, and paper samples allow her to test wearability for fabric and leather pieces.
When inspired, Annie sets aside her sketch pad entirely, starting her creative process by sensing and feeling her way through wax, clay, or another prototyping medium of her choice. In this manner, her designs evolve freely and organically from her fingertips.
HAND-FINISHED FINE JEWELRY
Whether crafted in solid gold, sterling silver, gold vermeil, and brass, Annie hand-polishes each piece to perfection. Finishes vary from smooth, shiny, matte, and textured, with touches of patina adding depth, shadow, and detail as she sees fit. Often, final touches include the perfect precious or semi-precious stones to complement a piece, all of which are ethically sourced directly from independent lapidary artists.
All Strawberry Possum treasures are individually etched with our signature hand-carved starbursts along with Annie’s maker’s mark, ensuring that—like snowflakes—no two pieces are exactly alike.
